2008 JVC Arsenal Series Amplifiers Review – World’s Most Compact Car Amplifier:

Tuesday, July 8, 2008

JVC Amplifiers, A number of companies now have tried going down the compact-design route when it comes to amplifier construction. Companies such as Alpine, Pioneer, and even Kicker have their versions of compact amplification design.

As technology progresses, things get smaller. It’s the nature of the beast, and there’s nothing stopping the industry from continuing on this development. JVC’s 2008 Arsenal amplifier line is simply brilliant. They utilized advanced technology, engineering, and styling all in one small package—the KS-AR8 Digital Amplifier.

Pros
The first noticeable feature of the JVC Arsenal amplifier is size. The average printer or copy paper is 8.5? x 11?. These amplifiers are 7.25? x 10? x 2.5?. It’s comparable to the size of a medium size text book and could literally be mounted anywhere you want. You could easily hide it and stack it, or hang it, vertical mount it, angle mount it, or whatever you want because it is possibly the smallest car amplifier available.

JVC also boasts their advanced “floating isolated structure? technology that gets rid of unwanted noise and feedbacks from amplification energy. This allows for greater amplification power with less amplification distortion and noise; as a result THD of these amps are rated at less than 0.04%!

The cosmetic design of the amps is attractive, with blue LED to illuminate the powerful-looking top panel. I like how JVC also features gold-plated connection terminals for greater quality signal transfer with minimal loss. All of Digital (D models) have a maximum power rating of 800 watts split into various channels depending on the model. If you are wandering about the RMS ratings, don’t worry, these bad amps feature 700 watts RMS for 1-channel, 150 watts per channel for the 2-channel models, and 120 watts per channel for the 4-channel amplifiers.

Cons
None as of this point. More detailed product information will arrive as soon as the March 2008 release of KS-AR8001D, KS-AR8002D, and KS-AR8004D.

If you can’t wait for March to come around, you may want to check out the current line of Arsenal Series amplifiers such as the KS-AR7001, KS-AR7002, KS-AR7004, and KS-AR7501D. Otherwise, it may be worth your wait to be patient for these book-size powerful amplifiers. Think of how much space you’d be saving as well as the technological advantages you’d have with the 2008 line of Arsenal amplifiers!
